Other souvenirs and pictures of DaVita Smith
Corey\'s living room is an important part of her daughter, Mooney Smith\'s life.
Destroyed a house in Bridgeton in April 9.
DaVita, looking back at the events that changed her family life, said she was responding \"for the second time.
\"It\'s not even a day,\" Davita said . \".
\"I can\'t do this every day.
I was still shocked and still waiting for her to cross the door after school, \"she said, pointing to the screen door in the living room.
She received some support from the sad consultation program she and her husband Rudolf Corey attended at the Glory Tabernacle Church in Bridgeton.
\"We are in sorrow. share program.
This is the 13 steps to help you deal with death, situations, and coping with death.
She also took part in a group called \"Compassionate Friends\" where members sat in a circle discussing their loved ones and how they died.
\"It\'s not a really sad support group, it\'s more about keeping the memories of the people you love alive,\" Davita said . \".
\"We learn different techniques to deal with death.
\"Unfortunately we don\'t have a death manual,\" she added, \"but we still need to deal with it.
Especially when close to home.
The night her daughter died was still fresh in her memory.
\"We got a call saying the Bridgeton police were outside our house,\" she recalls . \".
\"We thought it was a family member.
When our family is in the area, they like to joke --
So we got up and found a black car in the yard.
The two detectives got out of the car, walked to the house, knocked on the door and asked to talk to DaVita.
Her husband realized it was not a family prank and invited the men to the living room.
\"They didn\'t tell me exactly what was going on in the first place,\" Davita recalls . \".
\"They told me that there was a fire and fate disappeared.
The detectives looked around the room and noticed a picture of fate hanging on the wall.
\"They asked if this was a picture of fate and I said \'yes\',\" Davita recalls \'. \".
\"When I think back, I think of all the words they use, they are all past tense.
A detective told DaVita that a fire broke out at her daughter\'s overnight home. “I just —
I passed out, \"she said.
\"Of course, you want to see your child right away.
\"But even if they asked for dental records of fate, she was not fully aware of what the officers were saying.
\"My sister finally convinced me that I can\'t see [Destiny],” she said.
\"My family and friends support me.
A few days later, family and friends of fate were packed.
\"It\'s a great service,\" Davita said . \"
\"The community really came together to support us and show us their love.
Like they adopted our children.
She believes her beliefs are a major factor in her recovery.
\"Our faith in God keeps us down to earth.
\"The power of God gives us power,\" DaVita said . \".
\"It will be more difficult if we don\'t have confidence.
We don\'t have that hope.
\"No matter how hard it is, you must seize God no matter what happens.
\"Fate was the seventh grade when she died.
Davita occasionally hears from her classmates at Quinton Township Elementary School, which gives her comfort.
\"It\'s also comforting for them,\" she said . \".
But during her treatment, she was influenced by rumors about the death of fate night, which made the process more and more difficult.
\"The treatment process has started,\" Davita said . \".
\"We are on the road to justice.
I want answers.
But I really want people in the community to stop guessing what\'s going on.
All they know, according to police, is that they destroyed a house on Bridgeton Church Street.
The investigation continues and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
\"If anyone knows what, they should give it to the authorities instead of spreading it around.
\"If relevant, tell the police,\" Davita said . \".
\"Otherwise, it\'s still under investigation.
We\'re still waiting for samples.
\"I don\'t believe she\'s going to leave here that way, but now she\'s in a better place.
\"As for the family with the home of destiny, DaVita said she had no bad feeling.
\"I hear from them from time to time,\" Davita said . \".
\"I have no hostility today.
Her friends are very young. they grew up together.
I can\'t do anything.
I don\'t know how fire started, but I know it was the only time in her life when I couldn\'t save her. ”Davita —
Back to work now.
Is a family health assistant for special care at Griswold.
\"I like to help others,\" she said . \"
\"I hope that my story will give people a sense of relief.
They told me I was strong, but that\'s who I am.
\"Her living room is now filled with photos and items that tell the story of fate.

\"She wants to make her room with the theme of Cookie Monster.
But she still likes cookie monsters.
She even has a stuffed Cookie Monster doll.
\"Now, Cookie Monster doll is one of the other items that the living room shows that belong to fate.
